Our Story

How They Met

Their journey began in the fall of 2021 at UCLA, when Maddie walked into the first drone club meeting of the year. Max was one of the club leads, and what started as a shared passion for engineering quickly turned into a deep partnership. Over the next few years, they spent countless hours working together building the team drones (Whirly, Spinny, and Flappy), pulling all-nighters to study for midterms, and going on many late-night boba runs. They soon realized how effortless it felt to spend every moment together and the two started dating in January 2023. From then on, they were inseparable.  Even when Maddie moved to Vandenberg Space Force Base, she and Max took turns driving 3 hours one way every weekend for months to see each other.

After Max graduated in 2023, he began his career at SpaceX and (continuing their tradition of being inseparable) Maddie followed suit after her own graduation in 2024. They carpool together every morning and evening, and have yet to run out of things to talk about.

The two moved to Long Beach together in late 2024 and adopted two kittens, Cocoa and Oreo, who never fail to keep life interesting. They are incredibly excited to celebrate their marriage with their friends and family, and look forward to continuing their journey, side by side.

Information

The Venue - Villa De Palma

We will be celebrating our wedding at Villa de Palma, a gorgeous Spanish-style estate in Santa Clarita! The ceremony and dining tables for the reception will be outside, but the villa's interior will be open to all as well.
The address of the venue is:
26505 Josel Dr
Santa Clarita, CA 91387
NOTE: Please use Google Maps exclusively, as Apple Maps frequently directs drivers to an inaccessible back road that does not connect to the venue.

Transportation

The venue can only be accessed by car. For guests arriving in their own cars, there is complimentary valet parking on site. Follow the signs once you enter through the gate.
For guests using rideshare services, the Metrolink Antelope Valley line stops within a 10 minute drive of the venue (Vista Canyon Station).
Please keep in mind that Los Angeles is noted for its traffic and the I-5 is no exception. We recommend keeping a close eye on traffic conditions to time your arrival, especially if you're traveling from Los Angeles.

Accommodations

For those who'd like to stay close to the venue, we have secured a room block at the Hampton Inn Santa Clarita. To ensure availability and receive our special group rate ($139/n), please book your accommodations by September 23. The rooms are limited and first-come-first-serve.

What to Wear

We kindly request that guests join us in semi-formal attire. For those like us who don't know what that means, here's a guide from ChatGPT:
"Typically a suit and tie or blazer for gentlemen, and a cocktail dress, elegant separates, or a dressy jumpsuit for ladies."
Weather: As the ceremony and dinner are entirely open-air and heat lamps will not be provided, we suggest bringing a wrap or light jacket for when the sun sets.
Footwear: Some areas of the venue consist of unpaved or uneven ground, so we recommend opting for shoes that are comfortable for navigating this terrain or brining a spare pair.

Additional Info

Please RSVP by September 1st, 2026.

There will be an open bar with a fun collection of mocktails for guests who do not partake.

Pets are allowed! Just let us know in advance and make sure to bring a leash.

There is no alternative parking as the venue is in a residential area that does not have parking off-site.
