Their journey began in the fall of 2021 at UCLA, when Maddie walked into the first drone club meeting of the year. Max was one of the club leads, and what started as a shared passion for engineering quickly turned into a deep partnership. Over the next few years, they spent countless hours working together building the team drones (Whirly, Spinny, and Flappy), pulling all-nighters to study for midterms, and going on many late-night boba runs. They soon realized how effortless it felt to spend every moment together and the two started dating in January 2023. From then on, they were inseparable. Even when Maddie moved to Vandenberg Space Force Base, she and Max took turns driving 3 hours one way every weekend for months to see each other.
After Max graduated in 2023, he began his career at SpaceX and (continuing their tradition of being inseparable) Maddie followed suit after her own graduation in 2024. They carpool together every morning and evening, and have yet to run out of things to talk about.
The two moved to Long Beach together in late 2024 and adopted two kittens, Cocoa and Oreo, who never fail to keep life interesting. They are incredibly excited to celebrate their marriage with their friends and family, and look forward to continuing their journey, side by side.
